Live analysis
Pre-match and live analysis: how their weights change
Before tip-off, history forms the baseline expectation. Once the game starts, new information arrives: actual rotations, pace, fouls and shooting. The weight of live data should grow with the number of good observations, without jumping after two random minutes.
A large live edge
When the projection is substantially above the line and possessions support it, live evidence takes the leading role. History then checks whether the pattern is unusual, rather than blocking a signal solely because of the season average.
Close to the market line
When the edge is small, scenarios and data reliability matter more. Disagreement between H2H, home/away records and the last five can turn PLAY into LEAN or PASS. The aim is to avoid inventing an advantage that the market has already absorbed.
What the model checks
- The timing and amount of live data
- The projection's margin against the line
- Statistical quality
- Disagreement between historical evidence sources
